J We’re in the FA Cup finals!! Beat Arsenal!! Feels good. Hope we win it!
I know I’m over a day late in posting thing, but you’ll have to blame the busy schedule.
I shall not say naught more till we have the silver in our hands, I promise.
Interesting developments in my life after July ’09. My mum’s warming up to the fact that I might in all possibility go away to live my life on my own and eventually come back home. She keeps dropping these little hints, centering around how I would have to do the laundry on my own, press my clothes on my own, pay bills on my own, find my own way around, maybe even cook my own meals, and cope with academics and the change of scene being thousands of miles away from home. Bottom line – I asked for it, so I’m not to whine about it in case I stumble along the way. Yeah. I freaked out a bit. It’s exciting, the thought of going to a far off land, but it’s still away from home. So… I’m not having second thoughts or anything, but I’m allowed to think it through and feel all lost and desolate. Right now, as per the way things are going, it’s only the visa that stands between me and my master’s degree, and I hope, with all my might, that it goes smoothly. June is when I will be applying for my visa though, cause that’s the only time I will be able to get off work and go to the consulate. Besides I still need to get the documents ready.
There is a distinct possibility that I might miss my best friend’s wedding. And my cousin’s too. They’re getting married on consecutive days, and though the entire plan for the trip through three cities has been laid out and the tickets taken, I now might not be able to go for both their wedding ceremonies. I’m off between the 8th and 13th of May, but the two days that I want to be off…well, the clouds seem to be a little darkish in that arena.
Actually received my degree certificate exactly a week after I submitted a change in my mailing address!! And here I was thinking that my university wouldn’t care about it, and would delay just re-mailing my certificate. They did it very quickly that I now appreciate them. A lot!
Also received my first I-20. Well, I’m currently entitled to two, but as of this moment one has reached me. The other is probably on its way, should be in my grandma’s hands by the end of this week. Very happy. A sort of rectified course of action after an entire month of everything going haywire.
I’m stuck with a page on which I’ve to implement these tricky enabling/disabling of controls, populate a webgrid’s column as a webcombo box – that’s where I’m stuck. Understanding the logic is actually quite simple, even coming up with the logic is rather easy once you’ve done it a couple of times before because you unconsciously plan out how your implementation should be done. I’ve gotten quite good at writing stored procedures and queries now, and the UI part of my web application is also pretty cool, just bits of the code behind I need to pay more attention to.
Countdown to go home begins once again!! The Saturday after next I will be there!!
