Sigh…this world seems to be taking its toll on everybody.
Last night I was watching a press conference on CNN, Bush and Blair at the White House.
What I was struck by, the most, was the intelligent way both the politicians handled really sneaky questions. I admire the reporters who asked the questions a lot, ’cause it would take guts demanding such answers of two of the most powerful people on the planet, but the replies the questions elicited were perfectly and, most of time, I felt, truthfully framed. It’s probably a technique or an art that politicians are expected to become well versed in. Not to reveal too much and yet get the point across. The same thing I noticed in Mr. Sashi Tharoor’s interview. Considering the fact that I do not pay much attention to politics and am inclined towards bureaucracy, it was really interesting and that too a matter concerning the U.N.
It takes more than just a simple talent to handle words like that. You need to make a statement that will capture the thoughts of those listening. A kind of gravitational force.
Once you’re struck you must not be released.
That shows power. Power of speech, expression and words. And with it, depending upon what is being said and the interpretation of the said statements/arguments, respect.
Probably the shortest post till date, but my throat hurts, my nasal canal is threatening to dry up and I feel really comfy wrapped up in my turtleneck shirt and jeans. Yup ! I’m coming down with it, but I’m trying to prevent it.
I actually fought the cold once before with lots of warm water (and consequently, visitation rights to Moaning Myrtle), and snuggling into my very warm and fuzzy comforter.
The chillness engulfing the lands is a matter of concern, along with the outrageous fact that I’ve never watched Troy. A crime, it seems.
Well, woes would pour and more trouble would rise, had I not the inclination to run back to my books and understand why ‘Transaction Management’ is such a major concern for database management.
With best wishes for the holiday season, during which I shall be writing a set of semester exams, I now leave with a humble goodbye.
Sayonara !
